Let’s face it, masks aren’t going to be going away anytime soon. We’ve only just started to vaccinate people. It takes time before the world gets enough of a handle on this virus before we can ditch the masks. There are many in our communities that are still in need of masks and we at Discount Fabric Warehouse want to help as many as we can. Help us by donating to our mask drive!

We’re Accepting Donations!

All of our stores are currently accepting donations of quality, homemade face masks. 

We ask that any masks that you donate are ones that are of the same quality that you would give a loved one. There are no specific patterns or styles that we need you to follow. Donated masks will be distributed to groups and organizations that can get them out to individuals who need them.

General Mask Guidelines

Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind if you are making masks to donate:

• Masks are not one-size fits all. When possible, we would like to encourage you to use cord adjusters on your masks. That way, the recipients will be able to adjust them to their own faces.
• The CDC recommends that you wear masks with at least 2 layers of fabric. Masks with filter pockets are preferred as they often have an additional layer of fabric and additional protection can be added through the use of a mask filter.
• Nose wires and bars are a great addition to help further fit the mask to a person’s face. These can be sewn into the mask or added by sewing a little slip pocket in the top of the mask. There are some amazing tutorials online that show how to make a mask with a nose wire or bar.

We are providing various mask tutorials here on our website and will continue to expand on the offerings as different mask patterns are tested. Different folks have different preferences on the types of masks they like to make so we encourage you to give different patterns a try if you’re new at mask making.
